Hobo Wine Company

At The Hobo Wine Company we believe in unforced winemaking. It is our goal to intervene as little as possible. We believe in letting the vintage and the vineyards guide the process, dictate what is and what is not necessary. We believe in traditional winemaking as a goal, but modern technology within ethical limits as a resource. We want our wines to be balanced, to have a sense of place and time, to tell a story, share a history, and above all else, be delicious. Our philosophy is to pay attention to each wine and its individual potential.

Each wine is respected, considered, and thought about. Any action on the wine needs to be justified. When in doubt, let the wine be.

Hobo Wine Company

18 years come with some perspective, right or wrong, good or bad. This thing started with two barrels of Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel, no business plan, no real idea how the wine world works, and kind of just a reckless abandon because consequences weren’t something we were aware of. Fast forward to now and we have 1000 barrels or more, no business plan, only a vague idea how the wine world works, and enough responsibility to provide many a sleepless night. We hope we have learned a few things though.
